MicrobiologyMicrobiology is branch of biology which deals with microorganisms and clinical microbiology deals with microorganisms responsible for diseases.
In laboratory, suspected samples such as pus from wounds or secretions, body fluids such as blood, Cerebrospinal fluids, pleural fluids are inoculated in enrichment media where the microorganism such as bacteria and fungi can grow fast and freely.
After stipulated time, they are inoculated on culture media such as blood agar, nutrient agar, MacKonkey?s agar and further incubated for 24 hrs.

These organisms are then tested for sensitivity test, i.e., they are tested for drugs to which they are responding.
